Never ones to leave the possibility of a franchise unexplored, DreamWorks Animation is throwing the switch on another outing for The Boss Baby.
Alec Baldwin, who provided the vocals for the suited, canny infant who had to team up with his older brother to thwart the plans of the CEO of Puppy Co., is on board to return for the new film. Nothing has been said about who will be back to direct or write, though DreamWorks veteran Tom McGrath handled the original.
Though the movie got some mixed reviews, it earned $469 million worldwide and launched top of the box office in the States, which means it was a natural candidate for the company to try and sequelise. Plus, taking inspiration from a series of picture books by Marla Frazee means that there is fodder for more story.
The sequel will head to cinemas in March 2021, while DreamWorks next has Captain Underpants headed our way on 28 July.
