It’s been a whopping six years since Allen and Albert Hughes flexed their directorial muscles on a major movie project. The 2001 screen adaptation of Alan Moore’s classic graphic novel From Hell, thrust the brothers into the Hollywood limelight, but since then, not a peep. That is, until now…
Variety are reporting that Warner Bros. have signed the pair up to helm the post-apocalypse thriller, Book Of Eli. The film is set in a decimated America, where a lone hero discovers a rather special book that may hold the key to saving the human race from certain doom. Gary Whitta is penning the script and uber-producer Joel Silver will oversee journey back into hell. And after such a lengthy hiatus it’s good to see that Eli…isn’t the only project the brothers are lining up. Allen and Albert are also rumoured to be working on The Ice Man the story of serial killer turned mafia hitman, Richard Kuklinski – and a big screen version of the 70s TV show Kung Fu. Hi-ya!
