Last week we got our first official glimpse of Bond 25, courtesy of a promotional video from the Jamaica leg of the 007 shoot. Despite all those tabloid reports of a troubled production, the video teased some beautiful, colourful footage, a big explosion, some peeks at Daniel Craig back in action as James Bond himself, and a surprising amount of reggae music. And with the Caribbean portion of the shoot now finished, this weekend saw director Cary Fukunaga and crew roll into Bond’s other home: London.
The upcoming new Bond movie shot on location in the capital, with the film’s official Twitter feed sharing a bunch of tantalising pics. First up came a shot from The Mall – that's the massive road that leads to Buckingham Palace, for anyone not up on their London geography – showing members of the cavalry on horseback.
And a second snap showed Craig’s Bond standing alongside the Queen’s men. If that isn’t a quintessentially British image, we don’t know what is.
That wasn’t all – some follow-up posts revealed more of the London shoot, including the return of a beloved vehicle sure to be familiar to Bond nuts. Bond 25 will see the agent back behind the wheel of the Aston Martin V8, first seen in the series in 1987’s The Living Daylights. Here’s a snippet of Craig parking it in Whitehall and walking off with an ice-cold nonchalance that you might want to try and replicate next time you park up in your local supermarket.
Following that, we got our best look yet at Craig’s return as Bond – we’ve had little in the way of official images of him so far, but here’s a nifty shot of him all suited and booted and looking incredibly, well, 007.
Craig and Fukunaga will continue to shoot Bond 25 for its 3 April 2020 release – stay tuned for more glimpses into production as it rolls on through more locations. So far we’re yet to see anything of Rami Malek’s villain, while the film also stars the likes of Ana de Armas, Lashana Lynch (glimpsed in the Jamaica video), and Billy Magnussen. Returning alongside Craig will be Léa Seydoux, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright.
