The Bond 25 issues just keep piling up. While it looked like it was finally on the right track (albeit with another slight release delay), word arrives that it's still experiencing some pre-shoot changes. According to The Playlist, The Bourne Ultimatum and Contagion writer Scott Z. Burns is being brought in to overhaul the script.

Though there has been no official report on this (and that's unlikely, given that Burns often works as an uncredited script doctor on big projects), it sounds like he'll quickly be performing major surgery on Neal Purvis and Robert Wade's screenplay after executives (and current director Cary Fukunaga) were unhappy with it as it stood.

Bond 25, which is likely to serve as Daniel Craig's swan song from the series, is supposed to kick off shooting in the next few months, with that April 2020 release date a ticking clock getting ever louder. With luck, progress can be made and an actual movie result from all of the chopping and changing.

As well as Craig, cast members including Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris and Ralph Fiennes will be returning, as will Lea Seydoux as Spectre’s Dr. Madeleine Swann. The film is currently due on 8 April 2020.
