We're facing a good news/bad news situation around the next season of paranoid conspiracy-minded series Mr. Robot. First the bad: the show won't be back until later this year. And the good? BD Wong will become a regular cast member and Bobby Cannavale is joining the ensemble.

Series creator Sam Esmail has chosen to once again direct all 10 episodes of the next batch, which will pick up directly after the cliffhanger left dangling at the end of Season 2.

Cannavale boards as Irving, a laconic, no-nonsense used car salesman who will factor into the continuing story of Rami Malek's Elliot. As for Wong, he'll make more appearances as Whiterose, the leader of the Dark Army hacker collective that is supported by China.

"Sam Esmail is a true creative visionary who continues to deliver a series that boldly tackles timely issues and leans into the major headlines of the day," says NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment boss Chris McCumber in a statement. "We’re eager to share the next phase of Elliot’s journey with fans this fall."

No specific date was given for the series' returns, though American network USA has said it'll be in October. Esmail will start the cameras rolling this April in New York.
