After finding success on Netflix with scary story The Haunting Of Hill House, horror veteran Mike Flanagan is back looking to give us all the chills via The Haunting Of Bly Manor. Find the new trailer lurking below.
Gathering many of the Hill House cast, this adaptation of Henry James' The Turn Of The Screw updates the original 1890s story to the 1980s. After an au pair’s tragic death, Henry Wingrave (Henry Thomas) hires a young American nanny (Victoria Pedretti) to care for his orphaned niece and nephew (Amelie Bea Smith, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth) who reside at Bly Manor with the estate’s chef Owen (Rahul Kohli), groundskeeper Jamie (Amelia Eve) and housekeeper, Mrs. Grose (T’Nia Miller). But all is not as it seems at the manor, and centuries of dark secrets of love and loss are waiting to be unearthed. At Bly Manor, dead doesn’t mean gone...
Flanagan this time around has chosen to step back a little, handing some episodes over to Ciarán Foy to direct (though he wrote the scripts). The Haunting Of Bly Manor will creep its way onto Netflix's system on 9 October.
