If you thought it was safe to go back into the water, well, you were so wrong. So damn wrong. Sea monsters, storms, jellyfish, pirates, James Cameron’s submarine, that weird foamy stuff you get on British beaches… it’s no picnic in cinema’s seven seas. No-one seems to have told Blake Lively this though, judging by the sharky terrors The Shallows has in store for her. Here’s an exclusive clip showing the first encounter between Lively and giant fish.
More terrifying than a Gigantopithecus (even a singing, Christopher Walken-y one), this Carcharodon carcharias here seems to have taken a personal disliking to Lively’s Nancy. The young surfer has travelled to a remote coastal break to begin the healing process after the death of her mum, when she’s attacked by this Great White and left stranded on a rocky outcrop.
Non-Stop’s Jaume Collet-Serra is calling the shots on this one. His film that also has [a trailer to share](http://www.empireonline.com/people/blake-lively/shark-death-stalks-blake-lively-new-trailer-shallows/carcharodon carcharias).
The Shallows arrives in UK cinemas on August 12. Our advice? Go on your beach holiday first.
