No, The Husband's Secret will not detail how Blake Lively has discovered that real-life other half Ryan Reynolds is quietly going out at night to actually battle crime dressed as Deadpool-meets-Little Bo Peep. It will instead find her as the main character in the adaptation of Liane Moriarty's book.
Moriarty – whose work was also the basis for Big Little Lies – published the novel in 2015. The movie will follow Cecilia Fitzpatrick (Lively) a busy wife, mother and chronic perfectionist who inadvertently discovers that her husband has been keeping a secret from her for years... A secret that leads her to realize that her life is built on a foundation of lies and murder. Dun. And also, dun duuuuurrr!
"Liane Moriarty has established herself as one of the defining voices of the modern woman," says CBS Films boss Terry Press, "and Blake Lively’s unique combination of vulnerability, strength and extraordinary talent makes her the perfect actress to realize Moriarty’s creation."
Lively will also produce the film alongside Chris Weitz, Paul Weitz and Andrew Miano, and the next step will be finding a writer and director. She recently signed on to star in MMA dram Bruised and has new thriller All I See Is You due out in the States on 15 September, but the movie has yet to find a UK release date.
