Her other half (one Ryan Rodney Reynolds) is known for his action work, and Blake Lively made a fair showing of her own in last year's The Shallows. Now though, she's looking to outgun him with her own espionage thriller. Lively is starring in The Rhythm Section.

Meadowland director Reed Moreno, who shot some of the best episodes of The Handmaid's Tale this year, is on board to make the movie, which will adapt the first book of Mark Burnell's series. Lively is playing Stephanie Patrick, grieving the loss of her family in a plane crash. But when she discovers that the crash was no accident, she goes on a mission to find the truth by becoming an assassin and tracking down those responsible.

It sounds like it could be in the Bourne mode, though the producers are Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, the dup behind the Bond films. "It is exciting for us to be working with the immensely talented team of director Reed Morano and actress Blake Lively, who have a strong vision for this very compelling story driven by a female protagonist," the Eon team said in a statement.

Moreno will have the cameras rolling later this year, but there's no release date on the books yet. Lively is attached to star in The Husband's Secret and Paul Feig's A Simple Favour and has MMA drama Bruised in development.
