Psst... We've got some gossip for you! Blake Lively is joining Jon Hamm (swoon), Rebecca Hall and Jeremy Renner for Ben Affleck's latest directorial outing The Town. Also in negotiations is ubiquitous intimidator Chris Cooper.
The crime thriller is based on the book Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan - but that perfect movie name was stolen by legendary robber and hoisery fan Robin Hood back in 1991, so Affleck has opted for the less than obvious title **The Town **instead.
Lively will play sister to Renner's robber - part of the Irish gang led by career-criminal Doug MacRae (Affleck), whom she also used to date. MacRae is weighing up whether to give up his crooked existance after developing feelings for the manager of a bank they held up called Claire Keesey (played by Hall), all the while being pursued by FBI agent Adam Frawley (Hamm). If Cooper comes in on the party, he would be playing Affleck's father.
Shooting of The Town begins next month in Boston in view of a September 10 2010 release.
