Though we still know very little about the Blade Runner sequel, we at last have a chance to get some idea of what part of it will look like. Entertainment Weekly has some concept art for the film, and you can see the image above.
Sicario's Denis Villeneuve is directing the new film and, while he would only confirm that the film does indeed take places decades after Ridley Scott's 1982 original (itself set in Los Angeles in 2019), he allows a little bit more info to slip. out. LA is now even more sprawling than it was and, as you might be able to predict: “The climate has gone berserk – the ocean, the rain, the snow is all toxic,” Villeneuve says. The vehicle in the picture is a futuristic snow blower.
With Scott acting as executive producer, the film also has Harrison Ford back as Rick Deckard alongside a group of new faces that includes Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Ana De Armas.
The still-untitled sequel will be out in the UK on October 6 next year. For more pictures and info, head to EW.
