For those who might have been disappointed that Blade Runner 2049's box office results mean less chance of future movies set in the Replicant-heavy world, there's at least more of the story to be found in a new anime series, subtitled Black Lotus. Check out the first trailer.
The story focuses on Elle (voiced by Jessica Henwick), a female replicant created for mysterious purposes. Set in 2032 Los Angeles, the show follows Elle as she discovers new details about herself, which include being an expert at fighting with a katana, and uncovering conspiracies.
With Will Yun Lee and Brian Cox also in the cast, Black Lotus is directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Alcon Entertainment and animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe serving as a creative producer. It'll premiere this autumn in the States on Adult Swim and Crunchyroll, though there's no word yet on a UK date or venue yet.
