David Goyer, whose writing credits include The Crow and Blade, has just signed on to pen the third instalment of the Blade saga even though Blade 2, which has just finished shooting in Prague, is not due to hit our screens until early next year. Impressed by his directorial debut, Zig Zag, New Line executives are now planning to focus on Goyer’s career behind the camera. “After ‘Blade 3,’ I’m done writing for other directors,” he told Variety. “I’ve had enough frustrations over 10 years that I’ve realised, I can do it myself.” Blade 2 is scheduled for a US release in March 2002.
