With spring nearly here and summer not far off, it’s nearly blockbuster season – and we’re less than two months away from the release of Black Widow (unless Disney pulls a No Time To Die thanks to Coronavirus). A new trailer has dropped giving new glimpses at Marvel’s next adventure, due to kick off Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe – with more of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, Florence Pugh’s incoming Yelena, and the mysterious new villain Taskmaster. Watch it below.

There’s a fair bit to see there, though nothing that seems overly spoilery. We have a better look at the plot (it seems the Widows are brainwashed sleeper agents being used for nefarious purpose without their knowledge), and there’s a fair bit of Taskmaster in there – the unidentified baddie who has the ability to copy the slick moves of any fighter they meet. They even seem to have Black Panther-esque retractable claws. Considering this one is due to take place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, could they be stealing moves from all the active Avengers out there?

The trailer also includes a fleeting look at William Hurt returning as General Ross, more of the family dynamic between Natasha, Yelena, Rachel Weisz’s Melina Vostokoff and David Harbour’s Red Guardian (who gets to do his own Cap-esque shield-tossing and kick-flipping), and more from that massive snowy setpiece. Take a look at the new poster below.

Presuming all release dates stay in place, Black Widow is due to arrive in UK cinemas on 1 May.
