When ‘The Snap’ happened in Avengers: Infinity War (and not in the upcoming Endgame, as its co-writer recently revealed it could have been), the surviving Avengers barely got a chance to react or respond to Thanos’ universe-altering attack. But when we rejoin the gang in Avengers: Endgame, the weight of the situation has hit them hard – half of all life in the cosmos (including a swathe of their fellow superheroes) has bitten the dust, and it’s going to be one hell of a mission to undo it. As you might expect, they’re not taking it well – especially Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow.
“When we find her [in Endgame], she’s fucking pissed off,” Johansson tells Empire in the new issue, explaining Romanoff's mindset in the upcoming mega-blockbuster. “The one thing we know about Natasha is that she’s going to hunker down and she’s going to get those motherfuckers. That’s her MO.” The odds might be higher than ever, but the former S.H.I.E.L.D. agent is used to high pressure and near-impossible odds. “Nat is a very pragmatic person,” says Johansson. “She’s looking for answers. She was trained, and born and bred to finish the job.”
