Just when you thought Black Panther sequel director Ryan Coogler couldn't make any more smart casting choices, he goes and adds I May Destroy You's Michaela Coel to the ensemble.

Marvel is, of course, refusing to confirm the casting news for Wakanda Forever and no one has been able to probe behind the studio's protective shield to find any character details. Variety, though, has heard from sources that Coel is already in Atlanta to start work on the film, which has been shooting since last month.

We also don't yet know how Coogler and co-writer Joe Robert Cole are dealing with the title character's status in the wake of star Chadwick Boseman's tragic death last year. And despite the info lockdown, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba and Angela Bassett should all be back on our screens next July when the sequel arrives.

Coel, meanwhile, is best known for shows such as Chewing Gum and the aforementioned I May Destroy You, which has been winning a wealth of awards.
