You might think that Ryan Coogler had already finished assembling a truly exciting cast around star Chadwick Boseman for Marvel's Black Panther. You'd be mistaken, as he's now added Angela Bassett.
The actress, who most recently appeared on American Horror Story and Stephen Poliakoff's Close To The Enemy, has boarded Black Panther as Ramonda, who happens to be the mother of Boseman's T'Challa. Now you can see where he gets at least 79% of his kick-ass ability from...
This is just the latest recruit for a cast that already includes (deep breath) the talents of Michael B. Jordan, Forest Whitaker, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke and Florence Kasumba.
Coogler and co-writer Joe Robert Cole are putting the finishing touches to the script ready to start shooting early next year ready for a release in 2018. The film will hit UK screens on 9 February that year before arriving in the States on 16 February.
