Though it has been further impacted by Coronavirus delays, the long-gestating DC movie Black Adam, which stars Dwayne Johnson, is finally, properly building its cast on a path to production. Trinkets' Quintessa Swindell is the latest recruit.

The film has Johnson playing a version of the character who rose from being a slave to meting out his particular, powerful brand of justice in the society of Kahndaq 5,000 years ago. It didn't end so well for him, ending up imprisoned for millennia. And now he's out and ready to keep fighting.

In a more modern era, he'll meet members of the Justice Society of America, including Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo), Hawkman (Aldis Hodge) and, with Swindell's casting, Cyclone, who is able to manipulate wind and sound. Sarah Shahi is also in the cast, playing a university professor who also acts as a resistance fighter in Kahndaq.

Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the film, having worked with Johnson on Jungle Cruise, while the current draft of the script comes from Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani. The movie as of now is still awaiting a release date.
