Work is already under way on female-fronted DCEU movie Birds Of Prey, or to give it its full title, Birds Of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation Of One Harley Quinn), but the casting continues for people to support the main ensemble. The latest addition is Charlene Amoia.

She's on to play Maria Bertinelli, the mother of Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s vigilante Helena Bertinelli (AKA Huntress) and the wife of mafia syndicate gangster Franco Bertinelli. Alongside Winstead, the primary cast for this one also includes Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Black Canary, Ewan McGregor as Black Mask, Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz and Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya.

Harley and co. will be on a mission to help Ella Jay Basco's Cassandra Cain fend off Black Mask's evil intentions, as well as essentially cleaning up crime in general. Cathy Yan's in the director's chair, with Christina Hodson as the writer.

Amoia had a regular role in US sitcom How I Met Your Mother, and has superhero form thanks to a guest role in TV's The Flash. As for Birds Of Prey (full acronym BOPATFEOOHQ), it'll be out in 2020.
