We were getting worried that Bill & Ted Face The Music would go the usual drip-feed route and announce one person a day. But there's a whole host of new people joining the new movie, with Deadline leading off the news that Jayma Mays and Erinn Hayes will be Princess Joanna, Bill’s wife, while Hayes is Ted’s wife, Princess Elizabeth.
Elsewhere, Varietyhas word that Amy Stoch and Hal Landon Jr. will reprise their roles as Missy, and Ted's dad (police chief Chet Logan), while Saturday Night Live's Beck Bennett as Deacon Logan, Ted's younger brother.
They join a cast that also already includes Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter (of course), William "Grim Reaper" Sadler, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine and Kid Cudi.
The story finds the now middle-aged best friends, who still have yet to fulfill their rock 'n' roll destiny, setting out on a new adventure when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends.
Dean Parisot's directing and the original movies' writers Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon return on script duty. Face The Music will arrive (in the US at least) on 21 August next year.
