Less “game over,” more game on! Despite often dying or otherwise having serious trouble in the genre, Bill Paxton is clearly not afraid of sci-fi. He’s entered talks to co-star in All You Need Is Kill for director Doug Liman.
The Jumper director is getting set to start filming the adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka’s book in the UK next month. Tom Cruise stars as a soldier in a massive war against aliens who is killed in action.
But that’s not the end of his story. He keeps repeating the day of his death over and over again, eventually learning enough about his own abilities and the situation that he begins to think he can change his fate. Emily Blunt and recent casting announcement Charlotte Riley are aboard as fellow soldiers.
Paxton, assuming he locks in a deal, will be a typically tough platoon sergeant who the Hollywood Reporter describes as being like “a living piece of leather” in the script. That screenplay, incidentally, comes courtesy of DW Harper, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Joby Harold.
