Bill Hader had a slow-burning film career even before he left his regular gig at Saturday Night Live. But since finishing the show, he’s been appearing in more and bigger roles. According to Variety, he’s looking to pick up what could potentially be the biggest yet, entering talks to co-star with Amy Schumer in Judd Apatow’s **Trainwreck.
Though most of the details are being held behind closed doors, the original announcement about the film – which will make a departure for Apatow in that he didn’t write it – mentioned that Schumer’s script focuses on her character, a woman trying to rebuild her ruined life.
No information has emerged on what Hader might be playing in the film if he makes a deal, though Apatow and Schumer were apparently looking for someone to play her boyfriend and best friend/co-worker, so he may be one of those two roles.
Hader has won big plaudits for his dramatic work in indie pic The Skeleton Twins opposite old SNL pal Kristen Wiig, with the film nabbing great reviews at Sundance. That should be out sometime this year, and he’s also got a role in the upcoming The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby coming up. In voice-over work, he’ll be heard in both of Pixar’s next two films, The Good Dinosaur, pushed back to December 4, 2015 thanks to creative issues, and** Inside Out**, which is also scheduled to hit these shores, and even earlier the same year, arriving in July.
