They had big success with Big Little Lies, so it's hardly surprising that Nicole Kidman and writer/producer David E. Kelley are looking to work together on other things. They've now set up a new miniseries called The Undoing at Lies' home channel HBO.
Kidman will produce and star in the show, with Kelley adapting Jean Hanff Korelitz's novel You Should Have Known. The story will find Grace Sachs (Kidman), a successful therapist who is on the brink of publishing her first book. She's living a seemingly personal life, with a devoted husband and a young son enrolled in an elite private school. But then it all appears to go wrong: there's a violent death, her husband goes missing, and she starts discovering all sorts of terrible things about him. She'll have to rebuild her life in the wake of the revelations...
"David has created another propulsive series with a fascinating, complicated female role at its center," Kidman says in a statement carried by Variety. “I’m excited and honored to continue collaborating with HBO and David E. Kelley."
The team is putting the elements together and are on the hunt for a director. Big Little Lies, meanwhile, will spawn a second run of episodes, with Andrea Arnold in the director's chair.
