Ubiquitous comedian/actor Dane Cook was in danger of becoming a little less ubiquitous with his comedy Good Luck Chuck being shoved into turnaround by New Line. But now Lionsgate is riding to the rescue, plucking the film from the fires of Development Hades.
Chuck follows a handsome but vain dentist who sees it as a stroke of luck that every woman he meets ends up finding her soul mate after dating him, which means he gets to love ‘em and leave ‘em quickly. But things change when he finds a lady he truly loves.
The film has been able to hold on to not only its star, but also its writer – Evan Almighty scribe Josh Strolberg – and director Mark Helfrich, who will make his debut behind the megaphone after years of editing the likes of X-Men: The Last Stand.
