He caused more than a few ripples in the movie pond when award-winning debut, Sexy Beast splashed down; but then, without so much as a cash-in sequel, Jonathan Glazer dropped off the radar leaving the possibility that his excellent crime feature was just a one-off. However, two years on, Glazer has finally chosen his sophomore effort, a remake of Japanese film, Kaosu - or Chaos to the monoglots among you. Benicio Del Toro and Robert De Niro are being pursued to take roles in the drama, which sees a man enlisted to stage the kidnapping of a rich man's wife. This is all well and good until he returns from issuing ransom demands to find that his hostage has been murdered in his absence. Del Toro is in line to play the kidnapper while De Niro will be producing the film and possibly joining the cast as the victim's husband. Given the fact that Glazer managed to turn Sir Ben Kingsley - Ghandi for God's sake! - into the nastiest piece of work this side of the Costa del Sol, more than a few eyes will be keeping tabs on Chaos to see whether he can manage to hit the mark twice in a row.
