Ben Stiller was a man afraid he was missing out on life in The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty. In a similar fashion, he's playing a guy who is concerned his seemingly happy existence might be too small in Brad's Status. See the first trailer...
Stiller here is Brad Sloan, out escorting his son Troy (Austin Abrams) around potential colleges. A prodigy, Troy seems destined for big things at a prestigious campus, but all the talk of Harvard and the like sends Brad spinning off into a tailspin of concern that his friends are all doing better than he is.
Of his four best college mates, there's a Hollywood big shot (Mike White, who also writes and directs the film), a hedge fund founder (Luke Wilson), a tech entrepreneur (Jemaine Clement), and a political pundit and bestselling author (Michael Sheen). Brad, meanwhile, is happily married to Melanie (Jenna Fischer) in the Sacramento suburbs, with a job at a non-profit. But could he have done more with his life? And will his son face a similar future?
The film is due out on 15 September in the States, but doesn't yet have a UK release date set.
