Though we’re about to see him again as the Toast Of Croydon in slightly less luxurious circumstances for Drew Pearce’s Marvel One-Shot appearing on the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray, Ben Kingsley does have a life outside that role. Actually, he now has a film called Life, signing on to Anton Corbijn’s latest{ =nofollow}.

Life will chronicle the working relationship and deep friendship of photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson) and James Dean (Dane DeHaan). Luke Davies wrote the script, which tracks the pair’s interaction in 1955, before Dean became an international icon. Stock met Dean at a party and quickly realised he could be something special. Initially defensive and feeling guilty that he spent so much time away from his son, Stock emerged from his shell as he hung out with Dean in Los Angeles, New York and Indiana, chronicling his world for Life Magazine. The resulting pictures captured a rising star, and helped Stock go on to become a renowned artist.

Kingsley joins the cast alongside Italian actress Alessandra Mastronardi, who is probably best known by audiences here for To Rome With Love. Their roles have not been revealed, but we do know Corbijn is busy shooting the film in Toronto and Los Angeles.
