While he’s attached to one high profile project featuring science fiction elements already (that would be **Iron Man 3), it seems that Ben Kingsley is ready for more than one film boasting strange technology, even if Convention looks to be a little more low-key.
Cyrus co-writer / director Mark Duplass is on board to star in the film, which would see him as an inventor who brings his latest creation, a five-sided box, to a national event for box companies. While it’s initially a hit, and snapped up by a legend in the business (Kingsley) for mass production, there’s a catch. You see, every time Duplass creates the extra fold for the box, he tears a hole in the space-time continuum. Which means that a factory-level output would rip the world apart…
Don’t go expecting Michael Bay-level CG and crumbling cities, though, or at least not much of it: director Justin Reardon and writer Christopher Painter are working on a strictly indie level. But they are hoping to attract Jennifer Aniston to play Duplass’ sister, and are looking to set a start date.
Kingsley is on screen right now with The Dictato****r and has been at work on Ender’s Game. Duplass has Sundance pics Safety Not Guaranteed and** Your Sister’s Sister** awaiting release, and will next be seen in People Like Us.
