Affleck and Bruckheimer play ball

Ben Affleck has officially signed up for another film under the paternal eye of producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Glory Road. After his film, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past was dumped (probably for the best), Affleck jumped straight into this story of equal rights and basketball - yes, that time-honoured tale. Affleck will play Coach Don Haskins in this true story of a coach who landed one for equality when he led the first all black basketball team to victory in 1966. Hailed as the man who helped open college basketball to black players, Haskins led his team to the top of the NCAA championship - a fact that probably means something to our American readers but is utterly lost on the rest of us. So there you have it, not the most gripping turn of events ever reported but what can we tell you? The ice cream headline was just too good to resist.
