The Constant Gardener director Fernando Meirelles is continuing to gather talented types for his next project, the drama 360. The latest to jump aboard the intertwining tales of love, sex and betrayal? Ben Foster, soon to be seen shooting things with Jason Statham in the remake of The Mechanic.

He’s joining a cast that already includes Meirelles’ old Gardener collaborator, Rachel Weisz, and Anthony Hopkins.

Boasting a script by Peter Morgan, the story (or, stories, as it should be) is based on the 1900 play Reigen, which has already inspired French pic La Ronde among a host of adaptations. Various couples from different social classes meet, romance each other, fall out, sleep with others, and the tale ends up winding full circle (hence the title).

There’s still no word on exactly how Morgan and Meirelles plan to transfer that to their new indie drama, and how much inspiration they’ve drawn from either the place or La Ronde. Chances are, given the talent involved, that they’ve taken the basic concept and infused it with something original. And while the film has funding to start shooting, there’s no set date for the cameras to crank announced just yet, nor does it have a distributor.
