Though they’re better known for producing reality TV filmmaking competition Project Greenlight (which has made a return in the US this year), Ben Affleck and Matt Damon have turned their eye to science fiction to shepherd an espionage thriller called Incorporated to small screens.
The duo’s Pearl Street company has partnered with CBS Television Studios for the series, which imagines a world where corporations have unlimited power (so not that far away from our own then). It will follow one man who is trying to beat the system. Filmmaking brothers David and Alex Pastor are writing the script for the pilot and The Good Wife veteran Ted Humphrey will run the show.
The series marks the latest step in SyFy’s attempts to broaden its brand beyond repeats of other channels’ shows and campy monster movies such as Sharknado. The channel has a 12 Monkeys TV adaptation arriving in January as well as shows in development from Walking Dead boss Gale Anne Hurd and one based on John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War novel series.
