David Chase is still drawing from the pool of relatively unknown actors for his rock pic, which apparently now goes by the title Twylight Zones: Bella Heathcote is joining the cast.
Back in October we learned of Chase’s move to cast three largely unknown actors – Will Brill, John Margaro and Jack Huston in his coming-of-age drama, as well as asking Sopranos veteran and Bruce Springsteen band member Steven Van Zandt to add the movie some extra cred as music supervisor.
The film, which at one point was called The Twilight Zones (wonder if rights confusion with the legendary anthology show scuppered the original version), follows three high school friends who form a band in the 1960s. Inspired by their influences, including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and The Beatles, they decide to take a chance, and end up experiencing the highs and lows of fame.
Heathcote, an Aussie veteran of Neighbours, has appeared in a couple of films, but is currently in the middle of a Hollywood spurt, working on Andrew Niccol’s Now with Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried and nabbing a supporting role in Andrew Dominik’s Cogan’s Trade alongside Brad Pitt.
