Infamous impacted early in the pandemic when co-star Tom Hanks was diagnosed with Coronavirus, Baz Luhrmann's Elvis hasn't had the easiest track to the screen, but the director is finally able to unveil a brief look at Austin Butler as The King. Check out Luhrmann's first peek...

The film, written by Luhrmann alongside Craig Pearce and Sam Bromell, tells the life story of Presley (Butler), as seen through the complicated relationship that Presley had with his enigmatic manager Colonel Tom Parker (Hanks). This spans more than 20 years, diving into the complexities of Presley and Parker's relationship, highlighting his rise to fame, setting it against the backdrop of the cultural landscape shifting in America and the country discovering they were no longer so innocent. At the core of Presley's journey will be the most significant and influential person in his life: Priscilla Presley (Olivia DeJonge).

This certainly feels like a subject that is well in Luhrmann's wheelhouse, with the combo of music and style. As of right now, the film is listed for a 3 June release in the UK, but the teaser says 24 June, so it's possible there wil be a change before we see the official trailer.
