After a long wait, we'll finally watch Batman in a slightly ill-advised throw-down with Superman in a couple of months as Zack Snyder's Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice hammers in another big peg to help build his tentpole strategy for the Justice League movies. The director has shared a new TV spot that sees the Caped Crusader try to run down the Man Of Steel.
Of course, trying to injure Superman in even a souped up, tank-like vehicle such as the Batmobile doesn't exactly work — you'd surely need Kryptonite bumpers to make much of an impact. And indeed, the attempt sees the car careening wildly away after striking Supes, crashing, and Henry Cavill's last son of Krypton confronting Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne. It's here we see Bats asks Supes if he bleeds. Tough talk coming from a guy who has just trashed his ride.
Batman V Superman will, of course, show how the heroes started out on the wrong foot but found grouchy common ground, especially with the help of Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman and other heroes such as Aquaman and The Flash, who have been long rumoured to cameo. Jesse Eisenberg plays the villain of the piece, tech billionaire Lex Luthor and we're promised an appearance by another big bad from the DC Comics' canon, though we'll avoid naming names for now in case you're trying to avoid learning too much. For everyone else, he shows up in this trailer.
The film itself will arrive on UK screens on March 25.
