Barry Sonnenfeld Up For Lore

Though he’s already busy developing more than one other graphic novel adaptation (including**Dominion: Dinosaurs Versus Aliens **with Grant Morrison), Barry Sonnenfeld has found space on his to-do list for another. He’s in talks to direct Lore, which boasts Dwayne Johnson in the lead.

Lore, which has been in development since at least 2010 when Warner Bros. optioned Ashley Wood and T.P. Louise’s IDW comic, added Johnson back in April, when he agreed to put boot to supernatural asses for the pic.

If it all works out, the film – originally, and perhaps not-so-coincidentally pitched as "Men In Black with monsters" – will see Johnson recruited to ultra-secretive group the Shepherds, whose job it is to keep humanity safe from mythological beasties. Priest writer Cory Goodman wrote the script with Jeremy Lott, though we’d expect it to go through a few more drafts on its journey to the screen.

And though Sonnenfeld hasn’t always had success with his high concept wannabe blockbusters, he’s certainly got the chops to handle this.
