Barry Levinson (What Just Happened?) has signed on to direct an "L.A. Confidential-style noir" called Train, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on a novel by Peter Dexter, Train focuses on Miller Packard, a white officer in the San Diego Police Department, and his dealings with Lional 'Train' Walk, a young black golf caddy who has important information about a murder.
