Bana Gets Armoured

Eric Bana is in talks to join a film currently called Armored along with director F. Gary Gray (The Italian Job). It's a remake of 2004 French heist drama Le Convoyeur, and will focus on a heist in a armoured car company.

The story follows a man who takes a job at an armoured car company and wins over his colleagues, who trust him enough to include him in their heist plans. Unfortunately, he has his own motives for taking the job, and is playing his own agenda. David Ayer (Training Day, Wolverine)and Andrew Kevin Walker (Seven, The Wolf Man) have adapted the screenplay from the French original.

The film may very well be renamed, by the way, because a) Americans can't spell Armored* and b) there's an upcoming Screen Gems film with the same title.

The go-ahead for Bana's involvement is still dependant on scheduling - he also has publicity commitments for Star Trek and The Time-Traveller's Wife coming up, is filming **Funny People **and making his directorial debut on Love the Beast, a documentary about car racing. But if it comes off, filming could start in April for what should be a smart and character-driven drama.

*Just kidding, Yankees!
