English songster Damon Gough - alternatively known as Badly Drawn Boy - has been talking about his work on the soundtrack for About a Boy, and he's pretty impressed by the film as well. Invited to write the soundtrack to Hugh Grant's latest film by the film's director Paul and Chris Weitz and the book's writer Nick Hornby, Gough explains to NME magazine that he took some persuading. 'I wanted to get on with my own record. But I met them, read the book and started to get a good feeling. There's going to be about 12 songs and incidental music.' The first previews of the films seem to have gone down rather well with the Mancunian music man. 'We watched a couple of previews of the film in LA,' Gough says. '[Hugh Grant] is actually a very good actor. In this film he doesn't put a foot wrong. It's a feelgood film, but it thankfully doesn't go too Hollywood.'
