While we're all (mostly) staying home during the pandemic, comforting, familiar movies with endless rewatchability are among the more reliable pick-me-ups going. Which is why it's fun to see actor Josh Gad hitting Zoom to reunite casts of films such as The Goonies and, now, Back To The Future.
Gad made the announcement on Instagram, as he was Zoom-bombed by Lea Thompson to riff Marty McFly's (Michael J. Fox) waking up in 1955 after being hit by a car to be confronted by a younger version of his mother (Thompson).
Thompson, Fox and co-star Christopher Lloyd are confirmed, though we're also hoping Thomas F. Wilson (Biff). Director Robert Zemeckis and co-writer Bob Gale would be good additions, and is it too much to ask for Billy Zane (who played Biff's gang henchman Match) to drop in?
You'll be able to see the reunion on Monday 11 May ay Gad's YouTube channel, starting at 5pm. BST/9am PT/12pm ET. But if you have access to a time-travelling DeLorean, you've probably already seen it.
And on the subject of fun reunions, check out theCommunitycast's video via Joel McHale's Podcast and YouTube channel. Shot after the cast virtually gathered to table read a script for charity, it's a blast, if occasionally NSFW.
