It hasn’t even reached UK cinemas yet, but the success of Hoodwinked means that a sequel has already been given the greenlight.
The irreverent, Shrek-like spin on the Little Red Riding Hood story has been so successful for The Weinstein Company that they’ve commissioned the directors to get to work on the follow-up.
With double the budget, Hood Vs Evil sees our plucky hood-sporting heroine training with the covert organisation Sisters of the Hood. She is then called upon by Nicky Flippers - head of the Happily Ever After Agency - who teams her with the Wolf to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel. The character of Granny, and the rest of the Hoodwinked gang, also return and are joined by new characters.
The first film features the tonsil talents of Anne Hathaway, The Tick/Family Guy’s Patrick Warburton and Glen Close. The actors are all likely to return for the sequel.
