Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris acted together to Oscar-winning and nominated effect in Moonlight, and they've teamed back up again for near-future tale Swan Song. Now we know that Awkwafina will join them.
Benjamin Cleary, who scored his own Oscar with 2016's short film Stutterer, has written and will direct the film, which sounds like it might have a slight hint of Black Mirror to it. What we know so far is that Ali will be Cameron, married to Poppy (Harris), in a story that explores how far someone will go, and how much they will sacrifice to make life happier for those they love.
Awkwafina, best known for films such as Ocean's Eight, Crazy Rich Asians and The Farewell, is on to be Kate, Cameron's close friend and confidante. She'll next be heard in Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon and seen in MCU entry Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings, which is scheduled to be out on 9 July.
