The idea, written by Dan Gurewitch and David Young, finds Awkwafina as a podcast host for a true crime podcast much after the fashion of, say, Serial. When the convict (Barinholtz) she's devoted her show to escapes jail and turns up at her house, she agrees to help him prove his innocence.

Nick Stoller and Conor Welch are on as producers, and Welch has already weighed in on the casting: "Nick and I are huge fans of Awkwafina. Ike, not so much. But he was already attached." He's joking. We hope.

No director is attached yet, but both stars will also act as producers. Awkwafina has a lead role in Sundance-launched drama pic The Farewell and will crop up in a supporting role for the _Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle_s sequel, out 13 December.
