Ever since Avengers: Infinity War delivered its heart-stopping climax, we’ve been waiting to see how Tony Stark and co would react to Thanos’ universe-altering attack. And now we’ve got our first proper look at Avengers 4, or as we’ll be calling it from now on Avengers: Endgame, revealing the aftermath of the devastation wrought by the biggest villain the MCU has ever faced. There’s a lot to take in here – for one thing, Cap’s shaved off that beard – and the mood is weighty, with Tony Stark stranded in space and leaving heart-wrenching messages for Pepper Potts. “Part of the journey is the end,” he mourns as his resources begin to dwindle in the cosmos. Back on Earth, the remaining heroes are left to deal with the fact that half of their number are gone, taking stock of who’s left. Then there’s a shocking new look for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, who now wields a deadly-looking blade and an intense new costume. Still there’s fun to be had in the re-introduction of Ant-Man, with Scott Lang popping up at HQ after seemingly getting himself out of the Quantum Realm.
