Avengers: Endgame is very, very nearly the biggest film of all time at the worldwide box office. The MCU’s crowning achievement currently stands at an eye-watering $2.743 billion worldwide tally – just a casual $45 million away from besting Avatar – and it could be about to reach the #1 spot with a little help from a re-release. According to ScreenRant, a new version is heading to screens shortly with added ‘surprises’ after the credits.
The site reports that Kevin Feige himself revealed the new cut, explaining that the main film remains the same, with fresh footage arriving post-credits. The MCU boss said it’s “not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie,” explaining: “If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.” Endgame is notably one of the sole MCU films not to have a post-credits scene, instead paying tribute to the original six Avengers during the final reel.
Of course, the thing that remains to be seen is whether this cut arrives in the UK – more on that as we hear it. For now, if you’re planning one extra Endgame viewing (come on, it wouldn’t hurt) before Spider-Man: Far From Home arrives, you could get a little additional treat – and help push the film ahead of Avatar in a major all-time box-office shake-up.
