Avengers: Endgame

Last week, it was announced that Avengers: Endgame was getting an extra push at the box office – at least in the US – to, among other things, help it nudge past Avatar to become the #1 biggest worldwide box office hit of all time. The new version of the film includes the same main feature, but comes with ‘surprises’ after the credits – and now UK audiences will be able to find out exactly what those are. That’s because the re-release, officially called the ‘Bring Back event’, is coming to our shores from this Friday, June 28th.

If you head to selected cinema see Endgame from that point, you’ll see the MCU epic with “a video introduction by director Anthony Russo and an unfinished deleted scene from the film”, plus a “special sneak peek” at Spider-Man: Far From Home__. The sort-of-reissue is also being accompanied by a nifty piece of new artwork, depicting Tony Stark’s Power Gauntlet, studded with all six Infinity Stones, and with a sweet twist on that heartbreaking line: “We love you 3000”

(NOTE: It was initially reported that prints of the above design would be available at the screening – it has now been confirmed that they will not be available in the U.K.)

While the re-release is a fairly transparent attempt to rustle up the $38 million to push Endgame ahead of Avatar’s record, there’s more than likely a considerable contingent of the MCU hardcore who will relish another chance to catch the fight back against Thanos on the big screen – and be fully primed for Far From Home, which takes place in the aftermath of the latest Avengers. And hey, that artwork is nice. Then, next stop is home video where you can watch it over and over to your heart’s content. Whatever it takes.
