It's not often that you have entire Comic-Con panels devoted to just directors or writers, but when those filmmakers are Avengers: Endgame teams Joe and Anthony Russo and Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the rules tend to go out of the window. Today at San Diego's annual event, the directors announced a few new projects they're developing, including a movie based on animated series Battle Of The Planets.

Originally adapted from Tatsuo Yoshida and Tatsunoko Studios' Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, the '70s series follows five young orphans trained from a young age to form an elite, intergalactic team known as G-Force, swearing to protect Earth and its allies from otherworldly invading forces. You can get more of a taste of the series via its intro here, and find the logo for the movie version below.

As of right now, the Russos are producing the film, but may end up directing. And that's not the only movie they're cooking up via their AGBO production company, as they've nabbed the rights to 1980s comic Grimjack. Created by John Ostrander and Tim Truman for First Comics and IDW, it's the story of mercenary and his crew who are forced to dig into their own pasts when Grimjack’s estranged teenage daughter comes to him looking for help. This will take them through the insane streets of Cynosure, a mysterious city where all parallel universes intersect. There, this unlikely team fights to save not just themselves, but all the planes of existence as we know it...

It's early days for this one, which has been through the movie mill before, but hopefully with the Russos attached, it might actually make it to screens this time.

In related AGBO news, there was confirmation thatIt(and its sequel) directorAndy Muschiettiis now officially attached to direct Electric State, which is adapted from the art of Simon Stålenhag, which blends sci-fi elements with landscape paintings. Markus and McFeely wrote the script, and Muschietti is adding it to the packed schedule of potential projects, including Warner Bros.' long-gestating Flash film. Electric State was originally announced a couple of years ago, andwe talked to the Russos about it right here.

And finally, there's their already-announced plans for a Magic: The Gathering series, which could spawn more: “It’s an animated project with the potential to spin it off into live-action," Joe Russo said. "It’s a game we love — we’re geeks and love Magic Gathering and we’re excited to tell stories with it."
