Disney’s D23 event is about to kick off in the States, sure to bring with it exciting updates from the worlds of Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar, Disney+, and everything else the studio has a hand in these days. But before all those major movie announcements arrive, the first thing to emerge from this year’s expo is a fresh look at the upcoming Marvel areas which will be popping up at Disney theme parks at some point in the not-too-distant future.

Now that the immersive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge worlds are a go in Florida and California, Disney is going all-out in bringing the Marvel Cinematic Universe to its parks – with planned expansions which have just been announced to have the name ‘Avengers Campus’. According to the D23 site, those who visit the upcoming new comic book lands will “become part of an interconnected, global story spanning from California to Paris to Hong Kong, as the Avengers recruit new extraordinary people to join them.” No news yet on whether that means you'll get to punch Thanos in his big purple face or not.

A global story

The Avengers Campus lands will be launching in Disney's California and Paris theme parks.

Excitingly for UK-based fans of the MCU, Avengers Campus will be coming to Disneyland Paris, our nearest Disney theme park, as well as the California park. Some new concept art – above – teases what the Campus will look like, and if you squint up-close you can spy the likes of a Stark Industries building, a Pym lab, the Quinjet and more in the designs.

Elsewhere, a Moana-themed land titled ‘Journey Of Water’ is being planned for Disney’s Epcot park in Florida.
