When he’s not mucking about with Jon ‘Napoleon Dynamite’ Heder in the forthcoming School For Scoundrels, Billy Bob Thornton has been taking to the skies…well, sort of. The Astronaut Farmer sees Thornton as Charles Farmer – a former NASA employee who decides to return to the outer limits by dodging official channels and building his own rocket.
The film is written and directed by Mark and Michael Polish and features Michael Madsen’s sister / Sideways' Virginia Madsen as Thornton’s onscreen wife, Audie. As you can see from the teaser poster below, Thornton is sitting on a horse wearing a space suit. Ideal clobber for a movie with this title wouldn’t you agree?
