Last time we wrote about Flypaper, a few weeks ago, we wondered who would be cast as the object of Patrick Dempsey's affections in time for the June 7th start date. The answer turned out to be Liv Tyler, but the Lady Arwen has already changed her mind, and Flypaper**'s female lead will now be Ashley Judd.
Rob Minkoff (The Lion King, Stuart Little, The Forbidden Kingdom) is directing the script by The Hangover's writers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. The story involves two sets of crooks (one of them led by Tim Blake Nelson) robbing a bank at the same time, but finding guerilla opposition from spanner-in-the-works McDreamy Dempsey, who's in love with one of the bank tellers. It's Dog Day Afternoon, via Die Hard, for laughs!
Tooth Fairy, which also features Judd, has only just been released, but this is actually the first role the actress has taken in a year: she took some time out to do a graduate degree in Public Administration at Harvard. Looks like those political activities (global ambassador for YouthAIDS; Democratic party campaigner) might be taking over...
For right now though, she has lines to learn quick: as we said before, Flypaper starts shooting next week. Expect a release in 2011.
