File this in your 'Rumour File', the same one you put "Eddie Murphy To Play The Riddler In The Dark Knight Rises", pending further reallocation into the 'Actually Happening File', but Deadline is reporting that "sources say" that 18-year-old Ender's Game star Asa Butterfield is entering into talks for the new, younger, extra-rebooted Spider-Man role.
This role is, of course, not only for rights-owners Sony's new, new take on the franchise, but also for Marvel, with the much-loved, now-yet-younger-than-before character believed to be first introduced as part of next year's Captain America: Civil War, which has recently started shooting.
The other young 'uns on the mooted Spidey might-bes list - Nat Wolff, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet, Liam James - are still "in the mix", meaning this rumour has Asa is at the top of the pile, but not 100% guaranteed to get the gig. Watch this space...
